MEREDITH RIGGAN MAURER
MA, LPC, NCC
Who is your ideal client? I am especially motivated to work with individuals managing symptoms of ADHD; individuals going through life transitions such as high school to college/college to the workforce; new parents; individuals who struggle with communication and boundaries, as well as those who have experienced childhood emotional neglect. I approach therapy from a strengths-based perspective where we will work to identify your core strengths which we will then use to help you grow and thrive!
Why do you like being a therapist?: As a former teacher, my favorite part of working in education was the relationships I built with students as well as the growth I was able to see. As a therapist, I prioritize creating a relationship with my clients that allows them to feel safe being vulnerable and exploring their needs.

What’s something you wish people knew about therapy?: It isn’t a quick fix, but if you’re willing to do the work it is very rewarding and can help you live a much fuller, happier life.
Beach or Mountains: Beach! I spend a week in North Carolina every summer and it is my favorite place in the world.

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Moosetracks

Favorite Hobbies: Knitting, crocheting, sewing, napping.

Favorite TV Show: Frasier and The Golden Girls

If you weren’t a therapist, what would you be doing?: My sister and I would own and operate a combination bookstore/yarn shop.
